President- Jacob Greenfield, OTR/LJacob graduated with his MOT in 2018 and received his ppOTD from Chatham University in 2022. He currently works as an assistant professor at West Virginia University. His clinical experience includes inpatient neuro rehab, skilled nursing, and neuro outpatient. Jacob is a Certified Stroke Recovery Specialist and certified in aquatic therapy. Outside of the traditional clinic, he works in community-based care with an emphasis on providing services to individuals experiencing homelessness. Vice President - Kayleigh Nolan, OTR/LKayleigh Nolan is the current WVOTA Vice President. I am an occupational therapist and assistant professor in occupational therapy at West Virginia University. I have been an occupational therapist for 6.5 years and have worked in inpatient mental health, acute care, and inpatient rehabilitation settings. I have a specialty certification through AOTA for low-vision rehabilitation. I am passionate about OT in mental health, especially OT’s role in adult life transitions. Secretary - Traci Turley, OTR/LTraci Turley is an Occupational Therapist with over 25 years of experience. She graduated from Troy University with a degree in Rehabilitation Science and the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a BS and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Her primary expertise is in geriatrics through clinical work in Skilled Nursing, ALF/ILF, and Home Health settings. Traci is currently a Site Coordinator and an Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at the University of Charleston. She is married to Mike and lives in Elkview, WV.
Treasurer - Casey Ballato, OTR/LCasey graduated in 2018 from West Virginia University and currently is a Senior Occupational Therapist at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital. Her experience includes outpatient pediatrics, inpatient neurorehabilitation, and aquatic therapy. Casey has been active in WVOTA as the treasurer since 2020 while also being involved in the Conference Committee for the annual WVOTA conference and the chair of the finance committee. The University of Charleston, OTA Program Student Reps-Ashley Farruggia, OTA/SI am a former server, I got married 5 months ago and I am pregnant with my first child! OT to me is so important in health care. We give patients new ways to do the occupations that they loved. I chose OT because it is one of the least stressful healthcare jobs and seeing all the different OT interventions are really cool! Carter Stiltner, OTA/SCarter Stiltner is a student at the University of Charleston. I picked OT because of the ability to think outside the box with therapy approaches and the impact we can make in people's lives ! West Virginia University- MOT and OTD program Student RepsHattie Tucker, OT/SHattie Tucker is a first-year occupational therapy student at West Virginia University originally from Fairmont, WV. In addition to serving as a WVOTA representative, Hattie also serves as one of the OT representatives on the Health Science Student Advisory Board. Outside of school, Hattie enjoys riding and competing in horse shows. Taylor Grout, OT/STaylor Grout is a second-year Doctor of Occupational Therapy Student at West Virginia University from O’Fallon, IL. Prior to moving to West Virginia, she studied at Missouri State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Movement Science with a minor in Biomedical Science and became a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. During her time at MSU, Taylor played an active role in club lacrosse, serving as both club president and captain as well as being an executive board member for the Central Plains Women’s Lacrosse League. In addition to serving as a WVOTA student representative, Taylor is involved with Relay for Life where she is an Event Planning Committee member. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and cooking.
