As OT practitioners we know the value of our profession and we understand what we do. Explaining it to the rest of the world is our issue. Now, with the new Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM), it has become even more important for us to not only explain our importance but prove it.

We incorporate evidence - based treatment interventions into our therapy sessions, but are we documenting properly? Are we able to show a distinct difference between OT and the others? AOTA has worked tirelessly on various ways to keep OT on the forefront during these changes. I implore EVERY OT practitioner to join their state and national OT associations so that your voice may be heard.

AOTA has developed several web - based videos that provide tips on what we can do as OT practitioners. Please watch and utilize, the future of our profession will depend on it.
