Hello all WV AOTA members.  It has been my pleasure to represent the therapists of WV in AOTA this year.  The Fall online meeting ended in early November and a lot of business regarding the entry degree level for OT and OTA was discussed.  You can see a summary of the meeting here: at http://www.aota.org/AboutAOTA/Get-Involved/RA/past-meetings.aspx.

Planning as begun for the spring meeting which will be held in New Orleans in April.  The call for motions is active and any motions for consideration by the RA are due by January 2, 2019 by 5:00 p.n. EST. Please feel free to contact me with your motions or ideas about a motion.  You can access the necessary forms and review the process of writing a motion under the RA information heading at https://www.aota.org/AboutAOTA/Get-Involved/RA.aspx

The Representative Assembly is the governance body of AOTA responsible for establishing professional standards.  Each state has an elected representative to the RA.  We meet twice a year, in person in the spring and online in the fall.  As your Representative, I send communication before each meeting asking you for your opinions about the business and motions in front of the group.  These e-mails are sent by AOTA and often times might end up in your junk folder.  I also share information at WVOTA meetings, and through their newsletter and web site.  You can contact me at dmdavis@hsc.wvu.edu.

Thank you,

Diana Davis
